In 2011, as a regular visitor to the indievault.it website, I had the opportunity to meet the two founders of the Subvert Games studio. At that time they were working on a new hybrid game between a mmorpg and a pirate-like rpg called BlackReef Pirates.
I was lucky enough to be able to work with them by creating props and objects for this game. All built with the idea of being able to be used also on the first Ipad models, therefore with the maximum possible optimization for textures and models.
Undoubtedly it was an instructive experience that thanks to the collaboration of all the colleagues taught me a lot and improved my personal workflow. I am particularly happy to have been able to make more than a hundred objects in just three days.
All models were made in Maya and textured with photoshop, some even have normal maps. Thanks to this experience I also learned to use Marmoset Toolbag well, which I have always used for my model presentations since then.
