Project Venture
Studio: Hyperion Realms
UE5 open-world survival work for Venture: procedural terrain, Voxel Plugin 2 workflows, material systems, and foliage authored end-to-end.
The story
Venture was a multiplayer open-world survival project built in Unreal Engine 5 with Hyperion Realms. My work sat in the technical-art middle of the production: turning ambitious world-design needs into terrain, material, and foliage systems that could be iterated without hand-authoring every square meter.
The project needed a world pipeline that could scale. That meant procedural rules, node-based workflows, clear material conventions, and foliage that could read naturally across large terrain without becoming impossible to maintain.
Technical highlights
- Procedural terrain generation workflows built around Unreal Engine 5 and Voxel Plugin 2.
- Foliage authored end-to-end by me, including placement logic, visual consistency, and production upkeep.
- Material authoring and management: variants, consistency rules, and scalable maintenance for large environments.
- Node-based graph pipelines designed to make world generation repeatable and art-directable.
Outcome
Worked with Hyperion Realms for roughly seven months in 2024. Venture became a strong public example of my UE5 open-world technical-art work: procedural terrain, foliage, material systems, and scalable environment pipelines in one production context.
